Speaking on BBC Television, Jackie Bowie, Managing Partner at risk management firm Chatham Financial, said the results highlight how much stronger the banking system is compared with the pre-financial crisis era.

Bowie noted that stronger capital buffers and more rigorous regulation since the financial crisis have materially improved stability. While the findings support confidence in the system, she added that ongoing scrutiny remains essential as economic conditions continue to evolve.
