About John
John DeGuenther leads technology delivery at Chatham Financial, overseeing the teams that build and operate the secure, reliable software platforms powering Chatham’s risk management and advisory services. He combines deep technical expertise with a passion for building systems that enable scale, innovation, and client trust.
With over 25 years of experience in financial technology and media, John has led organizations through major transformations. Before joining Chatham, he served as Head of Product and Engineering at CoinDesk, where he helped shape the company’s digital and data strategy in the rapidly evolving world of crypto and Web3. Earlier in his career, John spent 15 years at Thomson Reuters, where he guided the modernization of global news production and distribution technology—introducing AI-driven automation and migrating key systems to the public cloud.
John earned his B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and completed an executive M.B.A. program at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN.
