Hugh Sutcliffe
About Hugh
Hugh Sutcliffe is a member of Chatham’s Global Hedging and Capital Markets team and is responsible for the firm’s business activities in Canada. Hugh assists real asset investors with interest rate and foreign exchange hedging analysis, structuring, and execution. He has over 30 years of capital markets experience, primarily in derivatives.
Prior to founding his own derivatives advisory practice in 2012, he worked at RBC Capital Markets, General Re Financial Products, and CIBC World Markets. He has designed and executed hedging solutions referencing numerous assets classes, including interest rates, FX, equities, and power. Hugh’s client base includes Canadian pension funds and their portfolio companies, infrastructure and renewable power sponsors, P3 procurement agencies, government entities, and corporations.
Hugh is a CFA charterholder and graduated from Carleton University with an honours degree in economics.
