About Gregory
Gregory Curtis works on the Real Estate team advising clients on their interest rate, inflation, and foreign exchange risk through derivative structuring.
Before joining Chatham, Gregory had work experiences at Société Générale CIB and HSBC working in foreign exchange and equity derivatives respectively and subsequently worked for Liberty Global where he was involved in several large M&A transactions. Gregory is fluent in French and holds a Master’s of Finance from IESEG School of Management in Paris.

The implications of negative interest rates in the UK

Following the BoE's initial 50 bps cut, GBP swap rates fell to all-time lows with the 5-year swap reaching 0.29% and the 10-year swap only one basis point higher at 0.30%. Rate expectations have since rebounded despite a further 15 bps cut last Thursday, with the 5-year swap rate now back at 0.51%.
