ChathamDirect Product Update: Q3 2023

Date:
September 18, 2023

Summary

To deliver on the advantages clients gain from our seamless integration of advisory, operations, and technology, the ChathamDirect team continually enhances our platform, streamlining the way users manage their exposures, hedging policies, execution, valuations, and hedge accounting.

Enhanced management reporting (BI)

ChathamDirect continues to improve reporting capabilities through Business Intelligence. To learn more about our BI reports, watch the video below.

Cash Flow Program Effectiveness report

Companies with a Cash Flow hedging program can take advantage of our new Cash Flow Program Effectiveness report. This report considers your budget rates, existing hedge rates, and prevailing market rates to automatically calculate expected FX gains/losses over time. Easily understand your hypothetical unhedged outcomes, the impact of your hedges, and the sources of noise that led to discrepancies between the two. You can also drill into program outcomes by currency or entity with our deep-dive single-currency view.

Remeasurement Analysis report

Companies with a Balance Sheet hedging program can take advantage of our new Remeasurement Analysis report. Quickly compare your hedge gain/loss to your exposure gain/loss to analyze discrepancies by entity and by currency. Evaluate hedge gain/loss by seeing the effect of forward point and hedge timing mismatches.

Cost of Hedging report

ChathamDirect’s new Cost of Hedging report allows companies to analyze historical cost/pick-up of their FX hedging programs. Easily compare the forward point cost/pick up by currency pair and take control of execution fee assumptions. Additionally, compare your cost of hedging by counterparty to arm your team with share of wallet data.

Cost of Forward Points report

When thinking about executing new hedges, use the Cost of Forward Points reports to gauge how much forward points will cost by trade notional and trade tenor. To learn more about our Cost of Hedging BI reports, see below.

Commodity enhancements

ChathamDirect has new enhanced support for commodity futures. Featuring brand new, intuitive trade loading and reporting to tie out to broker statements, streamlined reconciliation with your counterparties has never been easier.

IR web loader

Now you can enter fully executed interest rate transactions quickly and easily in ChathamDirect through our new web-based IR Web Loader. This five-step workflow guides you through building a trade, saving you time and embedding best practices into your process. Once loaded, you can view these historically loaded trades on the web for convenience and easy access. Currently supported transaction types include fixed-for-floating swaps, floating-for-fixed swaps, and swaps with embedded floors.

Looking ahead

We continually engage with you to learn your strategic objectives and day-to-day processes so we can focus our development efforts on the highest potential impact. That means you will continue to see enhanced functionality, tighter integration, and improved performance across our platform.

Currently, we are working on general enhancements to our cash flow and balance sheet exposure management modules, including the ability to tag exposures with more descriptive fields.

Additionally, we are currently developing new technology around hedge flattening, allowing companies with large hedging programs to reduce the number of currency pairs and notional traded.
