Overview:

We don’t simply hire employees. We invest in them. When you work at Chatham, we empower you — offering professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career, no matter if you've been here for five months or 15 years. Chatham has worked hard to create a distinct work environment that values people, teamwork, integrity, and client service. You will have immediate opportunities to partner with talented subject matter experts, work on complex projects, and contribute to the value Chatham delivers every day.

Are you ready to explore the world of financial risk management and advisory? Chatham Financial’s Summer Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience alongside experts in capital markets. Over the course of 5 weeks, you’ll work as an integral part of our client services, product and technology, engagement, or operations teams; developing critical skills in finance, analytics, and consulting through meaningful, hands-on projects.

What You'll Do:

Your experience will vary based on team placement, but past interns have contributed to impactful initiatives such as:

  • Supporting work in interest rate and foreign currency risk, debt and derivative valuation, financial reporting, structured finance, client support, hedge accounting, and capital markets solutions.

  • Assisting in data analysis, market research, client deliverables, trade reporting, and presentation development.

  • Building business intelligence dashboards, enhancing operational workflows, and participating in collateral management and trade lifecycle tasks.

  • Collaborating on a capstone intern project with peer interns and guidance from subject matter experts. Past projects have included:

    • Designing client education materials

    • Conducting SWOT analyses of new services

    • Researching risk management best practices

    • Developing strategic business plans for prospective clients

  • Participating in weekly company-wide and team meetings, as well as intern social and networking events.

What You’ll Learn:

Through a structured onboarding and ongoing mentorship model, you will:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of capital markets, financial risk management, and Chatham’s advisory services.

  • Develop a foundational understanding of how product & technology teams operate in a product company and tackle worldwide market challenges.

  • Hone your analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a real business setting.

  • Discover your unique strengths through a mid-summer self-assessment and reflection process.

  • Build a network of peers and professionals who are passionate about helping you grow.

  • Deep-dive on technologies & processes that are employed to build world-class financial markets products.

Who We’re Looking For:

We seek motivated, curious individuals with a collaborative mindset and a desire to make a difference. Ideal candidates will:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and entering their junior or senior year during Summer 2026.

  • Be pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, or a related field.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Exhibit leadership potential and a service-oriented attitude.

  • Be comfortable working with large datasets; experience with financial modeling and statistical analysis is a plus.

  • Be comfortable documenting business processes; familiarity with business process modeling and mapping is a plus.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with additional tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI) is a plus.
