John Kjelstrom leads Chatham’s Valuation practice, including debt valuation products and solutions. He brought 15 years of valuation experience to Chatham, including previous experience with National Valuation Consultants, leading their real estate advisory services division and with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Real Estate Business Advisory Group. John has been an active member of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF) since 2008 including as Vice-Chair of the Valuation Committee (2014–2015) and Committee Chair (2016–2017). John also co-chairs a task force for NCREIF-PREA Reporting Standards aimed at clarifying industry guidance on the valuation of real estate liabilities for financial reporting. John holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Arizona, is a Colorado-state-certified general real estate appraiser, and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
