The Financial Institutions (FI) SwapDesk team supports a growing number of bank clients where our hedging expertise is a constant resource that commercial bankers rely on.  Team members collaborate on processes and interactions to ensure the best client experience for bankers and borrowers.  This is a fast-paced work environment where team members manage their own workload and have the awareness to assist others with their workflow. The SwapDesk collaborates with all functions of the FI Team such as Client Relationship Managers, Trading Desk, and Sales to ensure we are providing the support that our bank clients need.   

In this role you will:

  • Work with senior leadership and key stakeholders at client banks to create, deploy, and monitor hedging strategies
  • Act as the point person for all new client training and program implementation
  • Develop market-based content and insights to add value to banker and borrower relationships.
  • Work closely with bankers at different client banks through a combination of email, phone, and face-to-face interactions
  • Participate and lead in all activities related to product usage including pricing, structuring, documenting, and executing of hedge transactions
  • Create custom analysis to support deal-specific structures and then present that analysis to bankers and their borrowers
  • Be familiar with commercial banking, the loan origination process, and how executing a hedge works in conjunction with closing a loan
  • Understand ISDA documentation and be able to explain it to bankers and their borrowers.

Your impact:

This is a client-facing role for a proactive derivatives marketer who will interact with the commercial bankers at each client bank to help bankers educate and provide hedging solutions to their commercial customers. The purpose of the role is to be available to the bankers to provide structuring advice, propose hedging strategies, and help the bankers win business by differentiating their offerings from the competition. The role will contribute to our purpose of Impacting Clients and is dynamic and fast-paced.

Contributors to your success:

  • 4 year B.S./B.A. required, MBA or other advanced degree welcomed
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • CFA, FRM or other professional designation welcomed
  • Commercial banking experience preferred
  • Experience with interest rate derivatives preferred
  • Understanding of fixed income markets
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel (expect to travel at least 40% of the time)
