John Avioli

Prior to joining Chatham, John served as Co-founder/Principal of Blue Spire Capital, a consulting group providing capital markets advice to public REITs and private real estate companies. From 1992 to 2004, he served as Director of Finance for Lerner Enterprises in Washington DC, where he led the capital markets and finance teams for a multi-billion dollar portfolio of office, retail, multi-family, hotel and land properties as well as other non-real estate ventures. From 2004 to 2007, John served as the SVP of First Industrial Realty Trust responsible for raising all debt and equity and effectively serving as the CFO of its $4 billion joint venture platform. From 2007 to 2009, John served as the head of WCS Investment Partners, a development entity of William C. Smith & Co (which is owned by family members) in Washington DC to develop its 2 million square feet of land in the emerging Capital Riverfront District. John holds a BA from Virginia Tech in Finance and an MBA from The George Washington University.
