Chatham Financial Expands Infrastructure & Project Finance Advisory Business
London, UK – February 1, 2012 — Chatham Financial, the largest global independent interest rate and foreign exchange risk management advisory firm, has appointed Rob Dornton-Duff to lead its risk management and financial advisory business in the infrastructure and project finance sector.
Whilst funding and capital constraints continue to impact conventional bank funding markets, and new funding solutions slowly evolve, the sector faces considerable challenges and opportunities. Combined with Chatham Financial’s 20 years of experience in the global derivatives market, Mr. Dornton-Duff’s sector expertise will offer the sector unparalleled independent advice and analysis.
“Rob brings market-leading experience in the infrastructure sector and up-to-date knowledge of the key issues surrounding credit, funding and risk capital that have impacted the global debt and OTC derivatives markets since the beginning of the current market cycle” said Mark Battistoni, Director of Chatham Financial Europe. “The long-dated funding requirements of infrastructure transactions have always made their risk management needs particularly sensitive, and we are excited about the opportunity to substantially increase our presence in this important sector.”
“Chatham’s considerable resources and experience in assisting the property and private equity sectors with complex financing and hedging problems make it the ideal platform for serving the infrastructure sector,” said Mr. Dornton-Duff. “Together we can effectively advise global infrastructure clients, promoting a more informed approach to the debt and derivatives sourcing from the earliest transaction stage. I am delighted to join Chatham’s extremely high calibre team.”
Mr. Dornton-Duff joins Chatham’s London office, which since 2001 has focused on advising a wide range of corporations and investment fund managers on interest rate, currency and inflation hedging.
